Donald Featherstone isn’t exactly a household name - but his creation is world famous. Featherstone is responsible for creating the pink plastic flamingo back in 1957. Fact is this plastic bird is not native to Florida or any of the tropics - it is however native to Leominster, Massachusetts, which bills itself as the Plastics Capital of the World. As the world mourns the loss of Donald Featherstone at the age of 79 - we’re reminded of his incredible talent and desire to make people happy.
